For Love, I Crossed Oceans of Time

poem

For love, I crossed oceans of time — By Tamara Trusseau

In the shadows of my thoughts
I see a love
I once knew

I feel the feelings
I once felt

Why do I remember and still yearn

Is it me
Is it time
Is it fate

Were we bonded in some timeless haze

I sit on a crowded train
Looks of hope all around me
The potent need for love consumes

I enter my house
Every corner a memory
The fragile scent of love
Creates visions of timeless intimacy

So love knows no time

Is it today
is it a year ago
Is it many years from now

In the shadows of my thoughts
I see a love
I once knew

He hugged me and said
We’re inseparable

I looked into his eyes
Searching
Hoping
Believing

Why do I feel
As I feel
In this eternal way

Was it written on papers of gold
Shinning and shimmering for all to see

Or was it just written in my heart
From the first beat of existence

In the shadows of my thoughts
I see a love
I once knew

He was with me before
As he is with me today
As he will be with me

Through oceans of time
